How a course runs

From paying to pressing play

Six things happen between choosing a course and finishing it. Here they are in order, with the limits of what a recorded course is, said plainly.

  1. Before anything is yours

You pay on the secure payment page

Choose your courses, give us your details and pay on a secure payment page run by our payment provider. Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted. Nothing is posted anywhere: a course is recorded lessons that you watch online.

  2. The moment payment goes through

Your order page appears at once

You are taken straight to your order page, with the courses you bought and what happens next. Keep the link. It stays valid, so you can come back to it whenever you want to check where things stand.

  3. Within one working day

Your access details arrive by email

We email your access details to the address you gave us, within one working day of payment. We write only to that address. If nothing has arrived, ask in the chat on any page and a person from the Hub will look.

  4. Lessons of 12 to 20 minutes

You watch, at your own pace

Lessons are short: on average 12 to 20 minutes, depending on the course. Pause anywhere, stop halfway through a unit and come back the next evening. Along the way you do practice tasks in your own planning and answer reflection prompts on screen. Nothing is sent to anyone to be marked.

  5. 24 months

You have 24 months of access

Access to a course you have bought lasts 24 months. That is long enough to watch it through once, and to come back to the lessons you need again before the next term starts.

  6. Not an accredited qualification

A certificate of completion from the Hub

When you have finished a course, the Hub gives you its own certificate of completion. It says that you completed that course, nothing more. It is not an accredited qualification, it is not awarded by an examination board, university or regulator, and it does not replace your school’s induction or appraisal.

Short lessons. Your own pace. Pause anywhere.

That is how every course is watched. The 11 courses in the library differ in subject and length, never in how you watch them.

What you get, and what you don’t

A recorded course is a good tool for one job. It helps to know where that job ends.

What a course includes and what it does not include
What you getWhat you don’t get
Recorded lessons, streamed to you online No live teaching: nobody is on a call with you
Practice tasks you do in your own planning No marking of your work or tutor feedback
Reflection prompts you answer on screen No downloads: lessons are streamed only
The Hub’s own certificate of completion No accreditation: it is not a recognised qualification
24 months of access to each course you buy No substitute for school induction or a SENCo’s advice

Your rights to cancel are set out in the Terms. Questions before you buy are welcome in the chat on any page, or through Contact.
